Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance

The Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance was formed on July 1, 2003 as a partnership between Listowel Memorial Hospital and Wingham and District Hospital. We share a common management structure with one CEO. We have a commitment to partnership and common Mission, Vision and Values. The Alliance Board consists of both hospital boards combined. We look for opportunities to create and share services and programs across our two communities and to look for creative ways to link to our community partners.

The Listowel Memorial Hospital has been providing acute care and complex continuing care services to the residents of North Perth and the hospital’s catchment area since 1919. Our fully accredited hospital offers a wide range of primary and secondary services including 24-hour emergency services. In-patient and out-patient care, specialist clinics and supportive diagnostic services. The Hospital has an active staff of 10 Family Practitioners as well as several consultant staff.

Hospital services include:

  • Emergency, Operating Rooms, Diagnostic and Ambulatory Care Units (December 2007)
  • Maternal/Newborn Unit
  • Diabetes/Nutrition Counseling
  • Speech-Language
  • Physiotherapy
  • Breast Health Centre
  • Fully integrated electronic patient health record with Family Health Team and Physician offices.

The Wingham and District Hospital is a modern, progressive acute care facility providing medical, surgical, obstetrical, paediatric, chronic and rehabilitation bed and other services, including 24-hour emergency coverage.

Hospital services include:

  • Emergency department with 24-hour on-call coverage
  • Rehabilitation department including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology
  • Multiple outpatient specialist clinics held on a regular basis to provide local service
  • Affiliation with London Regional Cancer Centre enabling chemotherapy treatment to be provided locally
  • Many community health related education programs
  • Fully integrated electronic patient health record with Family Health Team and Physician offices.


Position:  Administrative Assistant

Region:  Huron and Perth

Description:  The Administrative Assistant Finance and Corporate Services provides clerical and operational administrative support to Managers of Finance, and all Cross Site Corporate Services including IT, Medical Records, DI, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Environmental Services, Nutrition and Food Services, Maintenance, and Registration of LWHA. Clerical tasks include supporting Finance in month end closing tasks, daily/monthly statistical reporting, booking department/committee meetings, creating agenda's, taking minutes, etc. This role is also the main System Administrator for OMNI Assistant, one of our Management Systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to Finance and Corporate Services – coordinate meetings, agenda preparation, minute taking, report statistics, notice/flyers preparation, catering requests, etc.
  • Maintain records of Designated Substances with the facilities manager and provide clerical and administrative support to the asbestos coordinator for the purposes of the designated substances management plan.
  • Supporting project leads with the use of LWHA Project Templates, including coordination of meetings, agenda preparation, and use of project toolkit for accurate documentation, preparation of reports, developing/scheduling resources, communication coordinator, and move coordination.
  • Data entry and statistical reporting as required to support Decision Support Analyst
  • Clerical and administrative support of OMNI
  • Interaction on a professional basis with a variety of internal and external contacts
  • Support or participate in key activities or action plans as identified on applicable Operational Plans
  • Accounts Receivable vacation coverage/relief as required – Handling/counting cash, invoice entries/coding in HRCM, processing/accepting bill payments, balancing batch calculations, weekly bank deposits
  • Clerical and administrative support for IT Coordinator and Purchasing Coordinator for inventory and contracts

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Office Administration or equivalent
  • Additional training/courses in project management and LEAN
  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience
  • Health care experience preferred
  • Minimal physical effort
  • High degree of mental effort and analysis


Salary:  $32.79 - $38.58 per hour

Terms of Employment:  Temporary, full-time
